An introduction to gene editing and what this means for gardeners and growers

The South East Essex Organic Gardeners will be hosting an online zoom presentation “An introduction to gene editing, including what this means for gardeners and growers in terms of seeds, plant materials and contamination” with special guest Lawrence Woodward, OBE.

Topics covered:

  • A brief introduction to what gene editing is and the threat it poses to organic farming, growing and food.
  • An update on regulation status, field trials and the government’s undemocratic approach.
  • What this means for gardeners and growers. 
  • and, if there is time, talk about how genome science is giving some insights into how wholistic systems may actually be working. 

The South East Essex Organic Gardeners welcome both members and non-members and kindly suggest a minimum donation of £2.00 for attending the talk.
